Dr. Orozco is an Endocrinologist with specific dedication to Thyroidology. His practice has been dedicated to all aspects of thyroid disease, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer for the last 10 years. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio and completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Endocrine Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He is one of the select few physicians in the nation who holds ECNU - Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound. ECNU is a professional certification in the field of neck ultrasound for physicians who perform consultations and diagnostic evaluations for thyroid and parathyroid disorders through both diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration - UGNA. Dr. Orozco was a teaching attending at Campbell University prior to moving to the Salt Lake City area. Dr. Orozco has an upbeat demeanor and excellent communication skills when teaching medical students, residents, other endocrinologists and patients alike about all aspects of thyroid disease.

  • Excellent experience with Dr. Orozco. He is extremely smart and was able to answer all of my thyroid questions. Dr. Orozco was running on time! I showed up a little early and was seen earlier than my scheduled appointment time!

  • Dr. Orozco is the best. He is honest and always answers your questions (and I always have a lot) honestly. He doesn't sugar coat things but he is respectful. He listens and works with you to find medications that will work for you. Not many doctors are as good. Fewer will listen and talk to you about any and all of your concerns. If you really want to do something about your thyroid this is who you see.

  • I left my former endocrinologist when he dismissed my complaints about tremors associated with my type 2 diabetes medication. He also seemed to be too quick to medicate. When I saw Dr Orozco, and told him the various diabetes meds were causing tremors, he listened, and changed the prescription, eliminating one and doubling the dosage on the other. Voila! No more tremors! The important thing is that he listened to me, and believed me, and I value that in a doctor. His staff is courteous and helpful, he is friendly, on time with his appointments, listens to my concerns, and answers my questions.

  • I was very concerned about getting 4 FNA's of my left thyroid gland and Dr. Orozco was wonderful. He explained everything and it went just like he'd explained. He was kind and gentle and the after care was great. It does feel like pressure but it wasn't hard to handle. I'd read the reviews, took the advice and kept my eyes closed. He talks to you while it is happening and there were no surprises. I was in his Swansboro office and I think it is the best.

  • I found Dr Orozco to be informative and frank with what I need to do to help manage my diabetes. He told me what medicine I should be taking instead of what I wanted to take.I found it refreshing that a doctor would be upfront and honest with me and that is what is in my best interest. He knows his stuff.
